StatDoctor: August 2026

Fresh shifts, new clinics, and a big month of growth.

A note from Anu

Welcome to the August round-up. It has been a big month: we crossed 70 health services and 200 facilities, welcomed a wave of new doctors, and brought some great new clinics onto the platform, including more than 200 radiology clinics this month. Below you will find current locum shifts and full-time roles around the country, plus an indemnity partnership in the works. As always, just hit reply if anything catches your eye.

Month Highlights

  1. 1We are growing fast. StatDoctor is now live across 70+ health services and 200+ facilities, with 530+ doctors on the platform and around 20 joining every week.
  2. 2Build your own network. Secure doctor-to-doctor messaging and doctor profiles are now live on StatDoctor, so you can connect with and grow your own network of verified colleagues. Think LinkedIn, but only for confirmed doctors.
  3. 3Better indemnity, coming soon. We are finalising a partnership with a private indemnity insurer to bring StatDoctor members a discounted medical indemnity rate. More next month.

August News

Medicare

Bulk billing keeps climbing

The government reports a record jump in bulk billing, and the 2026-27 Budget adds further bulk-billing investment across the Hunter, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast.

Access

Queensland is now the toughest state to locum in

The reduction in the 20% rural loading has left Queensland locum rates sitting as the lowest in the country. Worth factoring in if you are weighing where to pick up work.

That's it for this month. Any questions, or a facility or partner you think we should feature next month? Just hit reply.
